Position: Head Cook

Kroka Expeditions is seeking an experienced cook who will process and prepare food in our brand new farmhouse kitchen. Come cook with ingredients grown on our beautiful farm to feed our staff community of 30 people and support the food needs of expedition programs. The Head Cook will join a community of people committed to adventurous learning, hard work, and simple living!


Full-time or part-time work beginning June 1st, 2022, with the option to transition to full time in the fall


❖ Work with Staff, apprentices, Farmers and students to feed students and staff during the spring and summer season
❖ Direct management of 1-2 summer food apprentices
❖ Keeping our busy food-pack-out room stocked with expedition food
❖ Making weekly food orders
❖ Planning and preparing 3 bountiful meals per day
❖ Processing and preserving the harvest for our year-round learning community
❖ Work with staff to keep kitchen and food room hygienic and high-functioning


❖ Demonstrated commercial cooking or catering experience
❖ High standards of hygiene and organization skills
❖ Enjoys working with children and cooking with fresh farm food
❖ Good communication skills
❖ Able to run manage a kitchen in a dynamic/multi-user environment
❖ Willingness and desire to live in community
❖ Creative, curious, industrious, resourceful
