White Mountain Multi-Element Expedition
Ages: 14 - 16
This two-week expedition is open to all students. Previous expedition experience is not required, but strength of character is; Students will gain skills in backpacking, non-technical climbing, and fast-water paddling in this multi-element expedition. Our first days will be spent at the Kroka village, harvesting and packing food, and preparing the gear we will need for our extended journey. Once our bags are packed, we will travel to White Mountains and begin a week-long hike on Appalachian trail over the high peaks. Gaining ridge after ridge, we will be rewarded with breathtaking views, learn map and compass navigation, practice low impact camping and study geography, geology and ecology of Eastern Alpine. After living with the mountains for a week, we will descend towards the Connecticut river (long river in Mohegan) and complete our journey south by canoe.
