Jake Ganley

Jake’s love for the outdoors started when he was very young in central NY surrounded by lakes, rivers, and hills to explore. He grew up fishing, hiking, and skiing, as well as taking trips to the Adirondacks with his family where he was constantly in awe of the great wildernesses. Struggling in normal school, Jake was always eager to go outside and play rather than sit in the classroom. Inspired by a hands-on environmental science class his senior year in high school called “New Visions,” Jake discovered that he enjoyed learning, was good at it, and wanted to dedicate his life to outdoor education. He attended SUNY Adirondack where he graduated with an Associates degree. At SUNY he was able to earn certifications in snow sports and rock climbing instruction, wilderness medicine, and ropes course leadership. During this time he put his training to use as a snowboarding and rock climbing instructor, as well as a summit steward for Hadley Mountain fire tower. After graduating he continued his outdoor education career at Northern Vermont University and is now excited to work with Kroka!
