New Itinerary in 2026: now with 50% more caves!
Calling all mud-rats, moles, and golems, explorers, minecrafters, diggers and dreamers! Did you hear that Vermont's longest cave was only just discovered? New caves are being explored every year, and you could be among the first to see them! We begin the adventure at Kroka Village exploring abandoned mines and practicing vertical rope skills (aka rock climbing!) From here we head west to the Taconic Mountains in southern Vermont in search of a secret camp high on a mountain ledge. Each day we will set out to explore the region's known caves and seek out those that have yet to be discovered. We will descend into brilliant marble caverns, drink from refreshing springs, and end each day with songs and stories around the campfire. We will help out on a neighbor's farm, plunge into a deep waterfall, and build stamina by climbing to the top of the mountain. After a week of exploring Vermont's marble caves we will end with a trip to New York where ancient limestone has formed the longest and largest caverns in the Northeast. In Search of Lost Caverns is the perfect sequel to Caves, Cliffs and Waterfalls!
